Mumbai Airport has been voted the best airport and also the safest in the State of the Airports Poll conducted by CNN-IBN and research group AC Nielsen. In a special show that debated the findings of the poll, experts from the aviation and tourism industry, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel, journalists and frequent air travellers spoke at length about problems that Indian airports face and the Government’s steps to stem them.
Terminals across the country competed for the title of "India's best Airport".
