Declared dead by Kolkata hospital, baby found alive

In a bizarre case of medical negligence, nurses at Kolkata's Belle Vue hospital allegedly declared a baby stillborn, only to find him alive later. Sangita Das was admitted to the hospital on the night of July 1, after going into a three-month premature labour. When taken to the hospital, she was told no doctor was available at the time. Later she gave birth to a baby boy in the same hospital but the nurses informed her the baby was stillborn. The baby, however, was found breathing the next day and is now fighting for his life.
