New Delhi: Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi (October 2, 1869 – January 30, 1948) was a major political and spiritual leader of India and the Indian independence movement. The impressive figure that he was, Mahatma Gandhi has inspired many a film. Every film has something new to depict - shades of him as a father, a leader, a discriminated-against barrister.
