Sarabjit Singh's execution has been stayed by the Pakistan government and he may still gets life imprisonment. But his family is hopeful that he will return home soon. Sarabjit's lawyer Rana Hamid is also optimistic as the ruling Pakistan People's Party is openly opposed to the death penalty. The party had recently called for relief for all prisoners on death row in Pakistan.
