Kerala nun Sister Alphonsa, who at the age of seven had dedicated herself to serving Jesus Christ was cononised on Sunday, October 12. The Church in India presents its first Saint to the veneration of the faithful of the whole world.
It's how the Church determines if a person is worthy of sainthood.
