The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has withdrawn from United Progressive Alliance at the centre after the Congress decided to partner with the National Conference and form a government in Jammu and Kashmir. "In view of your new arrangement with the National Conference, both in the state and in the UPA, you would appreciate our difficulty in continuing to be a part of the UPA," said PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti in a letter to Congress chief Sonia Gandhi.
The National Conference has emerged as the single-largest party in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls.
