The Godse cult is today limited to a few family members who believe that Nathuram was never properly understood. Godse, a deeply religious zealot, had always claimed that he had acted out of love for 'akhand Bharat' - undivided India - and had hated the Congress and Mahatma Gandhi for permitting the Partition.
