Britain's top Asian cop, Assistant Commissioner Tarique Ghaffur has settled his claim for race discrimination with Scotland Yard. According to media reports, the 53-year-old officer will receive a £300,000 payout and his full pension entitlement. He had originally been seeking more than £1million. In return Ghaffur has apparently agreed to 'soften' his allegations against the London's Metropolitan Police.
Ghaffur had sued his chief on grounds of racial and religious discrimination.
