Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s son M K Azhagiri was on Thursday acquitted in the Kirutinan murder case of May 2003. Azhagiri was one of the accused in murder of DMK leader Kirutinan in Madurai five years ago. Kirutinan was killed allegedly for supporting Stalin, Karunanidhi's younger son and heir to the DMK throne. It was alleged that an angry Azhagiri decided to get the minister killed during the height of rivalry between him and Stalin.
