The latest hike in fees in some IIMs and the proposal to hike fees in IITs have left many asking the reasons for this change. Recovering costs and retaining talent don't tell the full story. Many questions still remain unanswered. The promise to increase scholarships can't be a reason to charge more; nor can the availability of finance. Experts on CNN-IBN debate if institutes need to communicate its reasons more transparently or not.
