Orissa not doing enough for Christians: Centre

The Orissa government is not doing enough to protect Christians and their properties in the state, a senior Union Minister said this on Friday. "The situation is very grave. The (Central) Government is quite concerned," said Information and Broadcasting Minister P R Dasmunsi after a cabinet meeting presided over by the Prime Minister. Dasmunsi said the Centre had sent 7,500 paramilitary personnel to Kandhamal, with 100 jawans posted at every village. The Centre strongly felt that the "Orissa government has to do more, which they are not doing".
