Kept waiting in India, Intel moves to China

Intel, the world's largest chip maker, on Wednesday said it decided to bypass India for setting up a semiconductor manufacturing unit because the Government was “slow”. Intel chief Craig Barrett said setting up business requires planning and “as the Government was slow in announcing a policy” on semiconductor manufacturing he decided to go Vietnam and China. Intel would invest $2.5 billion to build a microchip plant in China.
