'Propaganda against MF Husain offends people'

If the value of an artist were to be gauged by the price of her works, Anjolie Ela Menon would come out tops. She hasn’t had a solo exhibition for some time now but a mid-sized work by her can cost as much as Rs 50 lakh. The money being thrown for art both amuses and scares Menon. “That awful cliché ‘art for art’s sake’ was absolutely true (for her generation). It’s no longer like that. It’s for money’s sake for a lot of young new painters,” she told Anuradha SenGupta on Being.
