India's dead war hero listed alive in Pakistan

Flight Lt. Manohar Purohit was killed in the 1971 war and was declared a martyr. The war hero would have faded away from public memory but his story changed suddenly when Pakistan in 1996 released a list of prisoners of war. The list contained Purohit’s name. Purohit’s family believes he is alive. His wife has contacted Indian and Pakistani authorities and visited prisons in Pakistan but hasn’t found her husband. The Indian government worked to secure prisoner Kashmir Singh’s release; why can’t it bother to find about a war hero. Purohit’s family asks.
